Museo Civico Polironiano - Museum - Regulation
Art.1 Establishment and objectives
The Museum Polironiano formed in 1975, has as its purpose to collect, preserve, study and promote the tangible and intangible evidence of the culture, customs and traditions of the people who lived and live in the lowland river Mantovano-Emiliano. The Museum Polironiano is managed and operated by the Municipality of San Benedetto Po and (according to the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the information contained in the DGR n. 7 / 11643 of 20/12/2002 Regione Lombardia) is a center research, non-profit, serving the society and its development, which makes available to the public and exhibits, for purposes of study, education and enjoyment, the tangible and intangible objects and evidence, obtained through research.
Art.2 The joint function of the museum
The joint function of the museum, geared to the purposes of Article. 1, will be: The exhibition, storage facilities can be visited at the request of users, the Media Library (which will offer users cards SIRBeC cataloging of all assets belonging to the collections), The Photo Library, Archives, The Library (specialized on the history of the Monastery of Polirone on socio-economic area of the entire valley and the current status of the demo-ethno-anthropological disciplines) and The Learning Laboratory.
Art 3. Heritage
The museum has two collections: an ethnographic one (including instruments of peasant labor, goods, material culture of the Valley, contemporary artwork, materials and documents in the popular theater and the paintings of Giorgi ) and an archaeological one. The museum also has photographs, sound recordings, films of ethnographic interest, a documentary archive and a specialized library.
Art. 4 General provisions on collection management
A)Inventories and files. Every object and every document used for exhibitions, entering in the museum must be registered immediately with identification data (name and Italian dialect of the object, the delivery date, name of the donor and the owner, time and place) .Then it will be photographed and cataloged.
B) Loans and temporary transfers. Nothing can be carried out without the permission of the Museum Curator.
C) any and every object that enters definitively or for purchase, or gift, or linked to the Museum must be recorded in the inventories with the main elements of recognition: the subject, size, material, technique, date, source, author . Nothing, once accepted and inventoried, may be sold or alienated.
D) reproductions, photographs, sound recordings and video. If someone want to take photos or make videos for publication, he must ask the permission of the Museum Curator.
Art. 5 Access to the museum
The Museum must open to the public for at least 25 hours per week, including Sunday. The museum must ensure the safety of items stored and visitors. The Board of Management of the Museum provides the procedures for admission to the Museum, the ticket price and facilities related to certain categories of visitors to the City Council, which will evaluate the convenience and applicability.
The former monastic library can be leased to institutions, associations or private as a reception room and to host award ceremonies, conferences, meetings, training courses, concerts and cultural events always prior authorization The corridor of the south can be used in exceptional cases, for the exhibition of paintings, sculpture, graphics and photography and cultural events.
The logo and the image of the museum are not for sale and can be leased to benefactors and patrons who contribute significantly to the institutional activity of the Museum, particularly the increase, management, maintenance of the collections and exhibition halls.
Art.6 The staff of the museum
The staff of the museum: the Museum Curator, the Head of educational services, the Head of the library, the head of security, the custody officer
Art. 7 The museum Curator
The curator of the museum has a degree in disciplines relevant to the mission of the museum and a professional competence and performs the following tasks:
- he is the guardian of the identity of the Museum
- oversees the preservation of the collections, the inventory and cataloguing
- he is the museum director
- promotes and develops integrated projects of research and cultural heritage also through agreements with public and private institutions
- manages relations with institutions, agencies and Italian and foreign experts
- proposes, conducts and coordinates scientific research, display temporary and publishing
- coordinate cultural activities, educational and science;
Art. 8 The Head of education services
The Head of education services has a degree in disciplines relevant to the mission of the museum and a professional competence regarding the processes of education, information and communication. In particular, the Director of educational services coordinates the activities of education, is the privileged point of reference of the museum for school and for others who use the services and educational activities; he is responsible for documentation, verification and evaluation of such activities.
Art.9 The head of the library
The head of the library has a degree in disciplines relevant for the mission of the Museum. In particular he acquires and organizes the documentary material on the history of the museum and the collections, and proposes procedures and the rules for access to documentation.
Art. 10 The Security Officer
The Security Officer ensures the efficiency controls and monitors the state of conservation of building and structures - working with the direction of the Museum in analysis, assessment and risk management with respect to persons, property and assets;
Art. 11 The custody officere
The service workers are engaged in the supervision of the rooms, the collections and the first contact with clients.
Art. 12 The Board of Management
The Board of Management is composed of 11 members with voting rights:
- Two persons nominated by state education agencies of the City of San Benedetto Po
- 8 members appointed by the City Council
- The museum Curator
The Commission will consult on different things: the examination of all the measures of a general nature relating to the museum, the presentation of the proposals on the program to be implemented in the following year; the regional contributions, the opening hours of the Museum to the public, the proposal of the price of admission and the facilities related to certain categories of visitors.
